Entendendo o Pensamento Computacional
The goal of this article is to clarify the meaning of Computational Thinking. We differentiate logical from computational reasoning and discuss the importance of Computational Thinking in solving problems. The three pillars of Computational Thinking Abstraction, Automation and Analysis are outlined, highlighting the role of each one in developing the skills needed for the problem-solving process.
متن کاملBruno de Finetti and Imprecision
We review several of de Finetti’s fundamental contributions where these have played and continue to play an important role in the development of imprecise probability research. Also, we discuss de Finetti’s few, but mostly critical remarks about the prospects for a theory of imprecise probabilities, given the limited development of imprecise probability theory as that was known to him.
متن کاملBruno de Finetti ’ s encounter with martingales
An account of the first encounter, in 1938, of de Finetti with the notion of martingale is given. The reasons, of an actuarial nature, which led him to deal with the subject are explained, along with a description of the ensuing original contributions to the specific field of martingales. The value of some of his conclusions is, then, discussed in the light of later development of the theory. T...
متن کاملBruno de Finetti and the Logic of Conditional Events
This article begins by outlining some of the history—beginning with brief remarks of Quine's—of work on conditional assertions and conditional events. The upshot of the historical narrative is that diverse works from various starting points have circled around a nexus of ideas without convincingly tying them together. Section 3 shows how ideas contained in a neglected article of de Finetti's le...
متن کاملSubjectivism, Objectivism and Objectivity in Bruno De Finetti’s Bayesianism
The paper will focus on Bruno de Finetti’s position, which combines Bayesianism with a strictly subjective interpretation of probability. For de Finetti, probability is always subjective and expresses the degree of belief of the evaluating subject. His perspective does not accommodate a notion of “objective chance” in the way other subjectivists, including Frank Ramsey, do. To de Finetti’s eyes...
